3. Historic Richmond Town Independence Day Celebration
Step back in time and celebrate Independence Day the old-fashioned way at Historic Richmond Town, between 10AM and 4PM. Experience colonial-era demonstrations, patriotic music, and guided tours of historic homes. Don’t miss the highlight of the day: a reading of the Declaration of Independence, where you can get your chance to sign a copy, followed by live music and refreshments. 4. Staten Island Philharmonic Concert

Another great thing to do in Staten Island on July 4th in 2024 is taking place at Snug Harbor. Immerse yourself in the sounds of classical music with the Staten Island Philharmonic Orchestra’s annual Independence Day concert at Snug Harbor Cultural Center. The show starts at 5PM at the South Meadow Lawn at Snug Harbor, so bring your favorite chair or blanket and enjoy the free concert between 5PM and 8PM.
5. Travis 4th of July Parade
Last but not least, learn and celebrate the rich history of Staten Island at the Travis 4th of July Parade. The ceremony starts at 12 PM at Independence Park (Corner of Victory and Glenn Street) and the parade Step off is at 12:30 PM at Showplace Entertainment Center (141 East Service Road). All access roads into Travis including the Victory Blvd exit off Route 440 will be closed at 11:15 AM so plan your travel accordingly.
