It was a hot and steamy night at Fushimi Japanese Cuisine and Lounge in Staten Island, as the single ladies gathered for a live, man auction. The firefighters from the official 2012 FDNY Calendar of Heroes were turning up the heat and loosing their shirts for a good cause. Virgin Mobile’s “Get Yourself a Man” National Campaign along with z100 and Fushimi Lounge, all came together for this charity event. All the proceeds went to the FDNY Foundation which focuses on educating the public about the dangers of fire and offers safety tips. Calvin Yum, a manager at Fushimi Japanese Cuisine & Lounge, says “We like to give back to the community, we’ve done many charity events in the past and are honored to host this fun event tonight”.
Girls were bidding on the hot eligible bachelors for a chance to win a date and some exciting prizes such as NYC Spirit Cruise for two, Virgin Mobile phone and $100 gift card from Visa.
“A lot of my friends are firefighters and police officers on the front lines, so I was excited to host this event here at Fushimi, we knew it would be a success” said Skeery Jones from z100. Once the man started strutting their stuff the crowd went wild, the energy was high and the girls were screaming “somebody call 911, there’s a fire over here!” At the end, five lucky girls went home with a fine firefighter on their arm.
