MTA Bus Time comes to Staten Island

January 14, 2012 No Comments

Few days ago, Staten Islanders were the first to receive real-time bus information for every bus route in the entire borough. The service, MTA Bus Time, allows riders to access the system from their cellphones or computers to get an updated arrival time of a particular bus. This bus-tracking technology was designed to enhance the daily commute and save valuable time.

“But Time is going to transfer the way that our 2.5 million bus riders use the bus system every day, and we’re thrilled to start here on Staten Island,” said MTA Chairman Joseph J. Lhota. Staten Island Borough President, James Molinaro, also plans to install display screens at some bus shelters to provide information to those who lack technology skills.

Bus Time marks a big step for local commuters. This means less time waiting for a bus and more time with your family.
