Halloween Events on Staten Island

This is a great time of year and there’s no shortage of fun things to do on Staten Island. We’ve got a list of spooky Halloween-themed events happening around town. There’s something on this list for everyone who loves Halloween from special events to costume parties.

  1. Halloween in Richmond Town

    Trick or treating in the historic village! Tasty treats for costumed kiddies as well as crafts, apple bobbing and games!

    When: October 26th, Fri., 3:30 PM – 5 PM
    Location: Historic Richmond Town, 441 Clarke Avenue
    Tickets: $10 for children, $5 for adults. SIHS members $9 for children, adults free.

  2. Haunted Historical Tours at the Garibaldi-Meuucci Museum

    After a lengthy investigations, and all-night stake-outs, the Staten Island Paranormal Society, the Eastern Paranormal Investigation Center and Haunted Times Magazine have declared the building “haunted.” This weekend you are invited on a ghost hunt of your own during a haunted historical tour hosted by the Staten Island Paranormal Society and the New York Paranormal Society. Each tour of the 160-year-old Gothic revival-style house and grounds is sure to be entertaining, and chilling, for believers and skeptics alike.

    When: October 26th and 27th Fri and Sat, tours will be offered at 7:30PM, 9:00PM, 10:30PM
    Location: Garibaldi-Meucci Museum, 420 Tompkins Avenue

  3. Halloween Extravaganza at the Conference House

    Visit the Conference House for a spooky day of fun! Featuring: hay rides, a costume parade, bouncy rides, magic, balloon animals, and a Haunted House!

    When: October 27th, Sat 11 AM – 4 PM
    Location: Conference House Museum, 7455 Hylan Boulevard
    Tickets: Admission $10, Hayrides $5.00 (children under 5 can sit on parent’s lap)

  4. oot-Ray for Halloween Celebration

    Come in your best costume and party like the owls of the Greenbelt, swooping in search of Halloween fun. Create a Spooky Silhouette wall or window decoration for your own “haunted house” using colored chalk on black paper. You will have an opportunity to practice your owl calls on our nature trail. Snacks, music, and games make this a real hooting experience! This celebration is for children between the age of 4 to 8 years old. Registration and pre-payment required.

    When: October 27th, Sat., 1 PM – 2 PM
    Location: Greenbelt Nature Center, 700 Rockland Avenue at Brielle Avenue
    Tickets: $6 Greenbelt Conservancy members; $8 non-members.

    Location: Alice Austen House Museum, 2 Hylan Blvd
    Tickets: $10 donation

  6. Pumpkin Picking at Decker Farm Stand

    Visit the 1800s Decker Farm and enjoy a guided tour through the 1810 farmhouse and a hayride. Purchase a pumpkin to bring home. Free shuttle bus service from the Historic Richmond Town parking lot to the farm.

    When: October 27th and 28th, Sat and Sun 11AM – 4PM
    Location: Decker Farm, 435 Richmond Hill Road
    Tickets: $5 per person, $16 for a family of 4. Additional cost for pumpkins.

  7. Mighty String Demons Concert: Surprises and Disguises

    The Mighty String Demons, an ensemble of young Staten Island violinists, will present a creepy, crawly, eerie and fun concert of music that will make you wiggle in your seats. This concert will feature guest musician Kazuo Nakamura on Concert Bass and a special performance of his composition titled “His Adventure” for six violins. Come dressed as any creature that peeps or chirps in the night. This event is made possible (in part) by an Encore Grant from the Council on the Arts & Humanities for Staten Island, with public funding from the New York State Council on the Arts. Registration encouraged.

  8. The Haunted Experience 2: NYC’s Scariest

    The original Haunted Café was a legitimate local lounge that was burned in a fire a few years ago. The NycArtsCypher recently renovated the building although there have been several strange sounds and sightings reported over the years. What goes on in the early morning hours is beyond anyone’s guess. The only way to truly know is to experience this for your very self!

    When: October 26th, 7 PM – 11 PM; October 27th, 7 PM – 11 PM; October 28th, 5 PM – 9 PM; October 29th, 7 PM – 11 PM, October 30th, 7 PM – 11 PM.
    Location: NYC Arts Cypher
    Tickets: $10 kids under 14 (need to be accompanied by an adult), $12 with school id, $15 general admission

  9. Haunted Harbor

    Snug Harbor’s Paranormal adventure. Discover the undiscovered and watch as history, agriculture, horticulture, performing arts, and visual arts come alive.

    Haunter Tours – Tour guides provided by local paranormal groups.

    When: October 31 at 8:30 PM and 10 PM, November 1st at 8:30 PM and 10 PM, November 2nd at 9 PM, 10:30 PM, Midnight
    Tickets: $10 in advance, $12 at the door
    Spirit Communication Workshop with Mark Eadicicco from the Practical Magic Shop

    When: Nov 1st, 8 PM – 10 PM
    Tickets: $20 per ticket

    “Haunted Secrets” Secret Garden

    The Secret Garden is transformed into a Haunted Garden for one night only!

    When: October 31st, 7 PM – Midnight
    Tickets: $10 per ticket
    Location: Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, 1000 Richmond Terrace

  10. The Greenbelt Monster Mash

    This event is for children ages 2 and up. Activities include haunted house, apple picking, egg on the spoon race, face painting, arts and crafts and more. Parents are required to register their child for membership.

    Membership is not required for adults, but is encouraged. Photo ID must be presented.

    This event is presented by Syfy. Syfy is the proud sponsor of 14 NYC Parks fall-themed events across the city, including Pumpkin Fest in Central Park on Saturday, October 27!
